Nach gut 10 Jahren...

Einfach aus Nostalgie wollte ich diese Songs mal separat veröffentlichen. Es sind meine persönlichen 'best of ' aus der Zeit mit Rio. An den Songs habe ich nichts verändert, nur soundmäßig etwas angeglichen. Veröffentlicht wurde 'The Walking Dead' mal unter Atomic Neon, was eigentlich völliger Unsinn war. Atomic Neon hat meine Musik ja nie gespielt.

Im Netz kursieren viele halbfertige Demo-Versionen unter 'Bodanegra feat. Rio Black', die ich selbst so nie veröffentlicht hätte. Aber 'The Walking Dead' ist uns gelungen und kam eigentlich ganz gut an. Noch heute wird der Song in der schwarzen Szene ab und zu aufgelegt. Kann also nicht so verkehrt gewesen sein ;-)

After more than 10 years...

Just out of nostalgia I wanted to release these songs separately. They are my personal 'best of' from the time with Rio. I haven't changed anything on the songs, just adjusted the sound a bit. 'The Walking Dead' was once released under Atomic Neon, which was actually complete nonsense. Atomic Neon never played my music.

There are many half-finished demo versions circulating in the web under 'Bodanegra feat. Rio Black', which I would never have released myself. But we succeeded with 'The Walking Dead' and it was actually quite well received. The song is still played occasionally in the darkwave scene today. So it can't have been that wrong ;-)

One of my fav finds. I love the entire album. From a dark, early 80s punk feel to later straight-ahead goth rock. The female vocals remind me of Siouxsie on the angrier/angstier side. The music echoes the atmospherics of 90s, second-wave goth like early Corpus Delecti, grumbly Gotterdamerung bass, Age of Heaven and the like. Love the whole album. Austin Govella
